‘’Officials of the Douala City Council have taken stock of the advancement of the the realization of the 2023 exercise budget till the 30th of September, and also the orientation budget of the 2024 budget’’.
This was during an evaluation meeting that took place at the Douala City council on Friday the 27th of October 2023.
The evaluation meeting was chaired over by the city mayor Roger Mbassa Ndinè who during the plenary session gave out a number of projects, the city council has been making to render the economic capital city more beautiful and attractive.

Roger Mbassa Ndinè while addressing his speech revealed that as of September 30th 2023, the council has witnessed a relative increase in the tax revenue with an amount of 66,167,584,654 CFA Francs an 89% of the year forecast . The city mayor indicated that, the amount increased into 74,262,294,935 CFA Francs after incorporation of the special revenue and an expenditure authorization of 14,762, 294,935 CFA Francs permitted by the resumption of the budget surplus of the 2022 financial year and the allocation investment transferred from the state budget. Revealing an increase in the revenue of the city council.
The expenditure rate of the Council has equally known some ameliorations standing at a relative value of 15.8% with the engagements as of September 30th reached at 54.4%.
The mayor while dishing out his speech said the Douala City council is very ready to mobilize it’s services for a satisfactory execution of the budget till the end of the year 2023.


The evaluation meeting equally brought to table the orientation of the 2024 exercise budget which it intends submitting to the council for examination in the month of December 2023.
For the year 2024 budget, the mayor says the City council is settling for an industrial, competitive and attractive city for investors.
An inclusive, sustainable and resilient city and a city of arts and culture.
In order to achieve this goal, Roger Mbassa Ndinè says this can be achieved in Five major ways:
The development of infrastructures and mobility
Strengthening public lightening
Hygiene and sanitation
Beautification of the city
And the support of economic and social development.
The projects the city mayor said they are actually working on the project for it’s maturation which will be included in the action plan of 2024.


The mayor during this event made a clarion call to the entire population for a collective participation to make the beauty of the city a possibility “ we need everybody to come on board “. Such as the project of the Douala Clean City which takes off October 31st 2023. With this project, the entire public needs to get involved and engaged for the beauty and attractiveness that the economic capital city deserves.
