The budget realisation of the Douala city council for the year 2022,stood at 69.3 billion frs with an increase of 3 billion frs CFA .The fact and figures were scrutinized Thursday October 26 at city hall during their 3rd session chaired by the city mayor Dr.Roger Mbassa Ndine.
It is a yearly tradition as enshrined in the decentralization policy of Cameroon , for councils to meet at the start of each year to define their budget target at the end of the year,to evaluate their achievement and make projections where necessary. This ,the Douala city council has never failed to respect as the councilors of the city alongside mayors of the different municipalities under the city council all converged on October 26 and examine their report card of 2022 under the watchful eyes of the senior divisional officer for Wouri Benjamin Mboutou. After the more the four hours of deliberations, some enticing recommendations were produced like,the continues process of maintaining road projects,the hygienic condition of the city , the continuous fight against urban disorder, floods in neighborhoods famous like Makepe Missoke, Bonamoussadi and many others.
However, the city mayor Dr Roger Mbassa Ndine expressed optimism that come 2023,the city council will be seeking to fully realise the Douala green city project which is destined to help fight the effect of climate change and promote social cohesion among councils to avoid public fighting on public space,a donation shall be offered to the laquintini hospital to help attend to emergency cases should the need arise with health complications in the city.The journey may seem far,but it takes determination and the will of all forces concern in the process,to channel the needed resources and make Douala befitting for all.
