“The Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna NGALLE BIBEHE on June 13, 2023, received in audience H.E. Dr. ALI GHANEM AL HAJRI, Ambassador-designate of Qatar to Cameroon, with residence in Abuja, who is on a short stay in Cameroon”.
To receive the august guest, the Minister of Transport was accompanied by the Minister Delegate, Zakariaou NJOYA, Secretary General, MVEIMANI SOMBO AMBA, Technical Advisor No. 1, Pr Valérie ONGOLO ZOGO and Directors of Studies, Planning, Programming and Cooperation, and Civil Aviation.
The aim of the audience was to prospect the high potential of Cameroon’s civil aviation market and to create a platform for cooperation in the transport sector. Given Cameroon’s strategic position in the Gulf of Guinea, freight transport was particularly discussed. Minister Jean Ernest Masséna NGALLE BIBEHE equally presented to his guest the investment opportunities in the other transport sub-sectors and assured the Ambassador of his availability for this emerging cooperation.

It is worth recalling that the two countries have maintained good relations for 10 years and the Minister of Transport had fruitful discussions with his counterpart in Qatar: this, on the sidelines of the 41st General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada, on September 28, 2022. These deliberations essentially concerned the revamping of the airline company CAMAIR-CO, precisely in the provision of aircrafts, training of flight and technical personnel and opening of a maintenance center.
