AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT IN CONGO; BDEAC SUPPORTS GOVERNMENT EFFORTS.

“The 28 edition of think- tank, took place this Friday December 8 at hotel Grand Lancaster in Brazzaville, under the theme «Agriculture, food security, agro – industry in Africa, models of development and modes of financing »

This occasion brought together technical and financial partners, Members of civil society and experts of agriculture from Congo, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. This reflection Conner was headed by Mr. Bruno Jean Richard ITOUA, minister of Hydro power in Congo. During this occasion, the delegation of the Central African States Development Bank BDEAC, was headed by it’s vice president, Mr. Jean Paterne Megne Ekoga. Some of the issues raised for debate during session were; the challenges of agricultural development, the agricultural and economic potential of the region as well as answers given by BDEAC to the needs of financial resources of the agric industry.

The BDEAC delegation intervened in the second panel which was based on the theme « Assistance to Development: activities, results and perspective of the future. »  The vice president of BDEAC in his words recalled that the bank has invested 120 billion FCFA in the agricultural sector in the past 15 years and about 15 billion for the republic of Congo. However, he said that following the new strategies being put in place for Congo to attain food sovereignty and also following the strategic plan 2023-2027 Will inject 130 billion FCFA in the agricultural sector.

The vice president of BDEAC the presented the instruments used by the bank in it’s interventions. Among which loans for operators of the private sector.
