Douala, April 29, 2025 – The Afreximbank Cameroon 2025 Roadshow, orchestrated by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), resounded as a call to action, mobilizing more than 200 key players in the Cameroonian economy around a hopeful theme: « Realizing Cameroon’s Economic Potential Through the Implementation of Afreximbank’s Mandate. » This event, much more than a simple conference, was a concrete demonstration of Afreximbank’s commitment to boosting trade and transforming African economies.

Afreximbank, established in 1993, is not just a financial institution. It is a catalyst for growth, an architect of intra- and extra-African trade. With its 54 African member states and 12 Caribbean states, it weaves a web of exchanges, supports businesses, and finances structuring projects. Its presence on the ground, through seven regional offices, including the one in Yaoundé for Central Africa, gives it a deep understanding of local realities and the ability to respond to the specific needs of each country.

Cameroon, an active member of Afreximbank, has already benefited from a massive investment of $1.3 billion US dollars. These funds have helped finance the national development strategy (200 million euros), electrify rural areas through solar energy (147 million euros), and stimulate foreign trade (140 million euros). But this is only the beginning.

The 2025 Roadshow highlighted concrete projects and targeted initiatives, capable of propelling intra-African trade and improving the living conditions of Cameroonian citizens. Agriculture, industry, infrastructure, services: all sectors are concerned.

« We are convinced that Cameroon possesses considerable economic potential, » declared Mr. Intong, a leading figure at Afreximbank, with conviction. « Through targeted financing, technical expertise, and close cooperation with local actors, we can help unlock this potential and create lasting prosperity for the country. »

This message resonates as a promise for the future. Afreximbank’s commitment to supporting local businesses and promoting intra-African trade is a strong signal, an invitation to optimism.

The Afreximbank Cameroon 2025 Roadshow was much more than just an event. It strengthened the partnership between the Bank and Cameroon, revealed the country’s economic potential, and outlined the contours of a prosperous future. Afreximbank is positioning itself as a key player, a partner of choice to accompany Cameroon on its path to development and prosperity. By mobilizing its financial resources and technical expertise, it offers the country the means to achieve its ambitions: to become a regional leader, a driver of growth for all of Central Africa.

Cameroon is at a turning point in its economic history. With Afreximbank by its side, it is well-placed to transform this potential into reality.
